Introduced in 1873 by Colt’s Manufacturing Company, the Colt Single Action Army—often called the “Peacemaker”—is one of the most iconic revolvers in American history. Designed by William Mason and Charles Brinckerhoff Richards, it became synonymous with the American West thanks to its reliability and accuracy.
 
A single-action revolver, the SAA requires the hammer to be cocked before each shot and features a six-round cylinder loaded via a side gate. Originally chambered in .45 Colt, it was later offered in calibers such as .38-40 and .44-40. With its long barrel, curved grip, and distinctive profile, the SAA remains a favorite among collectors and cowboy action shooters, and a staple of Western films.
 
About the Airsoft Version
Tanaka Works faithfully recreates the legendary revolver with its PEGASUS II 2nd Generation Colt SAA gas model. Known for highly realistic replicas, Tanaka upgraded its original Pegasus system with a full-length cylinder base pin for improved strength and authenticity, along with an adjustable hop-up for skirmish performance.
 
Unlike traditional shell-loading revolvers, the Pegasus system houses BBs directly in the cylinder, which also contains the gas reservoir. The design allows compatibility of select internal-style components (such as hammer and trigger assemblies) while incorporating built-in safety differences to prevent real-steel conversion.
 
Constructed with powder-reinforced ABS, metal internal parts, and a metal cylinder shell, the revolver feels solid and weighty. It delivers the signature four-click hammer action and a crisp, light trigger pull. With a 15-round internal capacity plus a 10-round reserve in the ejector tube, it holds up to 25 rounds total.
