The Tokyo Marui MTR-16 G Edition Gas Blowback Rifle features powerful blowback action driven by a large piston of approximately 19 mm in diameter. The bolt cycles in synchronization with firing, producing a strong and realistic recoil sensation that enhances operational feedback and immersion.
 
Enhanced Durability
Durability improvements include the Z-System mechanism, which reduces wear on the bolt catch, and a piston absorber combined with a friction-reducing bolt roller to minimize stress on internal components during operation. A barrel clamp system maintains precise alignment and prevents movement caused by recoil forces, significantly improving long-term reliability under high-impact use.
 
Authentic Operational Features
Core mechanical functions replicate the behavior of the original firearm. The charging handle is used for chambering the first round, and the bolt catch operates after magazine changes in the same manner as the real platform. Field stripping and routine maintenance disassembly are also possible using procedures that closely mirror real-world operation.
 
M-LOK Rail System
The handguard is constructed from rigid machined aluminum and incorporates the modern M-LOK modular rail system. This design allows accessories to be mounted only where needed, maintaining a slim and lightweight profile. Three M-LOK rail segments (3-slot, 5-slot, and 7-slot) with a 20 mm Picatinny interface are included and can be installed or removed using the provided hex wrench.
 
16-Inch Lightweight Barrel
The 16-inch outer barrel, inspired by civilian-style configurations, features a silver finish reminiscent of stainless steel. Twisted cutouts and aluminum construction reduce overall weight while maintaining structural integrity. Removing the muzzle compensator enables the installation of accessories with a 14 mm reverse-thread interface, such as suppressors and other muzzle devices.
 
Customizable Controls and Ergonomics
Control levers, including the charging handle, are ambidextrous and accessible from either side. Their enlarged design ensures reliable operation even when wearing gloves.
 
The stock offers six adjustable positions and can be configured with a concave or convex profile depending on user preference, supporting both stability and ease of movement. The vertical grip design enhances handling comfort, even in shortened configurations.
 
Optical Sight Compatibility
This model is designed without integrated front or rear sights and is optimized for use with optical sights such as scopes and red dot systems. (Optical sights are sold separately.)
 
Aluminum Die-Cast Magazine
The 20-round die-cast aluminum magazine replicates the weight and handling characteristics of a fully loaded magazine while offering high thermal conductivity for efficient gas performance.
